Orchard Cottage At Braidwood Castle
Orchard Cottage is a stone building attached to Braidwood Castle. It faces south and gets the sun. It's for two people.
The castle grounds are large and shared with the guests staying up at the castle itself. You get your own lawned area around the cottage. There's a stream, the Braidwood Burn, running past, so you can hear the water.
Inside, it's all on one level. There's a big living room with a wood burner. The kitchen is compact. The bedroom is comfortable. The wet room has a walk-in shower. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean.
You can bring two dogs. There's a washing machine, a cot, a highchair, and parking right outside.
The local shop is about a mile away. There's a pub and restaurant three quarters of a mile up the road.
For walks, there are paths from here down to the River Clyde. You're right by the Clyde Valley Woodlands National Nature Reserve. Lanark is five miles away. The New Lanark World Heritage Site is nearby, which is interesting if you like industrial history. You can get the train into Glasgow from Carluke station.
