Dunvarrich Cottage
Dunvarrich Cottage is ours. It's just outside Kyle of Lochalsh. It looks like a single storey place from the road because it's built into the slope, but it's got two floors inside.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms. One bathroom, which is on the ground floor. It's got a proper shower in there. The stairs go up to the main bedroom. They're fine, but mind your head on the way up.
The living room has a wood burning stove. We leave some logs to get you started. The kitchen's been done recently. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. The table stretches out if you need it.
The garden is enclosed. It gets the sun in the afternoon. It's mostly lawn with some flower beds around the edges.
You're about three quarters of a mile from the village. There's a pub there that does food. Kyle itself has shops, a railway station, and the bridge over to Skye. The drive onto the island is about five minutes. Eilean Donan Castle is about fifteen minutes away.
If you like walking, you can pick up coastal paths from the village. Plockton is a nice spot, about a twenty minute drive. For a bigger day out, Glen Shiel and the Five Sisters are within half an hour. You're in the middle of it all up here.
We allow one well-behaved dog. There's a travel cot and a highchair here if you need them. Just ask us to put the stairgate up before you arrive.
