Number 34 is a Victorian cottage renovated in 2022 which has been lovingly and sympathetically refurbished, bringing some of the original character to life. The property also benefits from the addition of rear bi-folding doors and an ‘orangery’ roof which floods the back of the house with natural daylight. Located at the top of Saffron Walden high street, everything you could need for a holiday is almost at your fingertips. The living room is comfortably furnished with seating for four, a flatscreen wall-mounted TV and a DVD player, just kick back and enjoy. With all that natural daylight, and assuming the weather allows, why not take your morning coffee outside and treat yourself to a bit of peace and quiet whilst planning your adventurous day ahead? The family bathroom is fitted with underfloor heating, a traditional claw foot bath, overhead shower, toilet, and sink.
Walkers and cyclists will find an array of opportunity in this picturesque area and after a busy day exploring, why not head to one of the many local pubs or restaurants or make the most of your stay and settle in for something to eat and a few drinks, the choice is yours. With such a prime location, less than a mile away from the stunning English Heritage Audley End House, as well as the mainline train station to London, Cambridge, and Stansted Airport. There are a number of historic buildings in Saffron Walden and some date back to the medieval period. Audley End Miniature Railway is less than a mile away and the Imperial War Museum at Duxford is less than 10 miles.
Within a 30-minute drive you can travel to Bishops Stortford, Stansted Mountfichet Castle, or the glorious village green and duck pond at Finchingfield. The city of Cambridge can be easily reached being only 15 miles away. Here you can enjoy a city of culture, numerous shops, restaurants and pubs, museums, botanical gardens and even a spot of punting on the River Cam. London is 45 miles away and again can be reached in just over an hour by train or car so if you fancy taking in some of the capital’s highlights or a theatre trip then it is easily done. Number 34 is in a fantastic location to get to the Norfolk, Suffolk, and Essex coastlines.
