This wonderful holiday property is located in the pretty village of Wendens Ambo close to the town of Saffron Walden with shops and eateries, regular market days on Tuesday and Saturday. A perfect location for exploring the delights of Essex and enjoying its picturesque countryside. Decorated and furnished to offer a very comfortable holiday retreat offering open plan accommodation with comfy sofas, two wonderful bedrooms sharing the en-suite bathroom, with deep filled slipper bath and shower cubicle. A south facing enclosed courtyard garden with sofa garden furniture, perfect to fully relax.
Close by lies Audley End House and Gardens, where you can explore this decadent Jacobean mansion house and meet the staff in the Victorian Service Wing. You will find gardens designed by Capability Brown which enjoy stunning views across the unspoilt countryside. Audley End train station is just a 10-minute walk through the village with trains to Cambridge and Stansted Airport, 15 minutes and London Liverpool Street, 40 minutes. Cambridge is a popular tourism hub where you can visit the universities, enjoy a punt along the River Cam, having so many restaurants, cafés and shops. The capital city of London for theatre experience and so many places of interest to enjoy. Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and famous Oxford Street for excellent shopping. Alternatively visit Duxford Imperial War Museum, a 20 minutes’ drive away and where you can get up close to Concord, B-52’s and also see Second World War planes such as the Tiger Moth and Spitfire. Shopaholics should also squeeze in a trip to Freeport in Braintree, which offers a wealth of cut price outlet shopping, and, after a busy day, you can return to relax and recharge.
