This is New Cottage on the Farr Estate near Inverness. It's a detached house with a big garden that goes round the sides. Good for kids and dogs. There's a deck out the back with a barbecue.
It sleeps seven people in four bedrooms. There are four bathrooms, which is handy. One double bedroom is downstairs and has its own bathroom, so it's fine if stairs are a problem. The other three bedrooms are upstairs. One of those is a single room.
The main room is open plan with a wood-burning stove. There's a utility room too, which is useful if you've been out walking. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-finished.
You're out in Strathnairn here. It feels very remote, but Inverness is only about twenty minutes away by car. On the estate itself, there's a private loch a short walk from the cottage. You can fish there, and there are rowing boats. There are paths through the woods and up onto the moors for walking or biking. The River Findhorn is a short drive away if you want to fish for salmon, but you'll need to sort a permit in advance.
For days out, you can get onto the A9 easily. Inverness is to the north. Going south takes you towards the Cairngorms National Park. You're well-placed for starting the NC500 route as well. You can find walks that connect from here over towards Loch Ness.
In terms of what's here: there's parking, wifi, a TV, dishwasher, washing machine. All the bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot. We accept up to two dogs.
