This is New Cottage on the Farr Estate near Inverness. It's a detached house, so no neighbours attached.
It sleeps seven people maximum. There are four bedrooms, one downstairs and three upstairs. Each bedroom has its own bathroom with it, which is useful. One of the upstairs rooms is a single bed, though, so that's how it makes up the seven.
The garden is big and wraps around the house. It's fully enclosed, which is good for dogs. There's a deck with a barbecue out the back.
Inside, it's open plan downstairs with a wood burner. There's a utility room with a washing machine. It's a 4 Star place, so it's been done up to a good standard. Everything's included, like bedding, towels, and the electricity.
You're out in Strathnairn here, so it feels very rural. But you're only about twenty minutes' drive from Inverness if you need shops or want to go to a restaurant.
On the estate itself, there's a private loch a short walk away. You can fish there, and there are rowing boats. There are also trails for walking and cycling right from the door. The River Findhorn is very close if you're after salmon fishing, but you'd need to sort a permit for that in advance.
For wider trips, you're well placed. Inverness is the obvious one for the city. Loch Ness is about half an hour south. You can get onto the Cairngorms National Park or the start of the North Coast 500 route within a similar drive.
We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. There's a cot available if you need one. Parking is right there at the house.
