Farr Out

Farr Out is a one bedroom cottage on the Farr Estate near Inverness. It's out in Strathnairn, so it's quiet. You're up a single-track road, surrounded by fields and hills.

It's for two people. There's one bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with a good shower. The living space is all open plan: kitchen, dining area, and sitting area together. It was all refurbished a couple of years ago, so it's in good order. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped.

Outside, there's a patio with some furniture. The neighbours include a group of llamas in the next field. They're curious.

You're about a 20-minute drive from Inverness. That's handy for shops or a night out. But here, you're properly in the countryside. You can walk or cycle straight out from the cottage onto the estate paths. There's fly fishing available on Loch Farr, which is on the estate and free for guests.

The road through Farr is very scenic, it goes towards Fort Augustus and Loch Ness. Loch Ness is closer than you might think, maybe a 25-minute drive to the southern shore. Of course, the North Coast 500 starts in Inverness, so it's an easy place to begin that route if that's your plan.

For facilities: there's parking right outside, WiFi, TV, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
