Flint House Cottage
Located in the East of Kent between the historic famous Canterbury city centre and the port of Sandwich, the picturesque village of Ash is ideally located. Ash is best known for its medieval buildings, narrow roads and charming shops that are dotted around the village. The stunning church which you can see out of the master bedroom window dates partly from the 12th century and has a 15th-century tower.
The cottage includes everything needed for a self-catered stay and is perfect for couples, small families and/or a break away with friends. The property has two comfortable bedrooms and is ideal for walkers, cyclists, and historians thanks to its great Kent location.
Ash Recreational Ground which consists of open space used for rugby, soccer, cricket pitches, tennis courts, an outdoor gym, a new accessible children’s play area, the sports’ pavilion and the allotments. There is also a local Bowls Club and around 100 miles of Public Rights of Way including numerous bridleways within the parish. With the local hubs of Sandwich, Canterbury, Dover, Deal, Folkestone and Isle of Thanet not far away at all, the 43-bus service runs regularly throughout the day so you will not be far away from the main shopping hubs, cobbled streets and boutique shops, or the famous Canterbury Cathedral and the city’s historic city walls. Once in either Sandwich or Canterbury there are also high-speed trains to London St Pancras. Sandwich Town is one of the Cinque Ports with lots of age-old pubs and restaurants and its world-famous golf courses, where they previously hosted the Open.
A staycation in the Southeast of England can offer you the experience of both sand between your toes and a holiday break on home turf. Flint House Cottage is located perfectly for guests to explore the Kent countryside and coastline. There are lots of tourist sites and destinations within a short drive including Whitstable which is famous for its Oysters, Dover for day trips to France or for English Heritage’s Dover Castle. Also, if you like family days out at the zoo, Wingham Wildlife Park and Howlett Zoo are both close by.
In Thanet Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Margate offer a selection of golden sandy beaches and fun-filled days out for all the family. You can also explore the dramatic coastal line of the white cliffs and golden beaches including Broadstairs’ popular Viking Bay, Pegwell Bay’s Nature Reserve, the stunning Botany Bay and Josh Bay, which are some of Kent’s best kept secrets.
