Chase Heys Cottage is in Churchtown. It's on a short, quiet terrace just off Botanic Road. You get your own walled courtyard garden at the back.
It's one of two cottages next to each other. This one sleeps three. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. Everything's on one level, so no stairs. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after.
The living room has a wood burning stove. You get a bag of fuel to start you off. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. The kitchen is fine for cooking meals, nothing fancy.
Churchtown village is a five minute walk. There are a couple of cafes, a few shops, and pubs that do food. Southport's main beach and promenade are about a half hour walk away, or a few minutes in the car. The town centre is a short drive.
If you like walking, the coast and the dunes are right there. The National Trust at Formby is about a 25 minute drive. You can see the red squirrels and walk on the beach there.
For golf, Royal Birkdale is very close. If you're thinking of a day trip, Liverpool city centre is about an hour by car or train. The Lake District or the Yorkshire Dales are both just over an hour's drive.
Facilities: there's parking for one car on the street outside. Wifi works fine. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
