Sandfield The Promenade
Sandfield The Promenade is on the seafront in Southport. It's a detached house, a big Victorian one. You're right opposite the King's Gardens and you can see the sea from some windows.
It sleeps up to twelve people. There are six bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The ceilings are high and the rooms are all pretty big. It doesn't feel cramped. Because it's an old house, the layout is a bit spread out over three floors. The stairs are fine, but they are the original stairs, so they're typical for a house like this.
The main thing about it is the location. You can walk to nearly everything. The pier, the arcades, the cinema, and the shops on Lord Street are all about ten minutes away on foot. You really don't need the car. There's a pub and a shop about five minutes walk away.
If you do want to drive, Liverpool is about 40 minutes. Blackpool is under an hour. For a different kind of beach, Formby and Crosby are worth a trip. Crosby has those iron men statues by Anthony Gormley stuck in the sand. The National Trust beach at Formby is good for walks and maybe seeing red squirrels.
For facilities, it's got the basics you'd need: washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, parking for a few cars on the drive. Bedding is included. There's a cot and a highchair if you're bringing little ones. No pets, I'm afraid.
