The Old Mill
The Old Mill is just outside Fettercairn village. It's detached. The layout is upside down, so the living room and kitchen are upstairs. That's for the view over the fields. There's a glass-fronted balcony up there too.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms downstairs and one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place. It's been done up to a good standard. One of the bedrooms has French doors out to the front patio.
There's a garden at the back. It has a small stream running through it, which isn't fenced, so just be mindful if you have children with you. You can get to it from the kitchen door.
The village is a short walk away. There's a shop, a hotel, and a couple of places to eat. The Fettercairn Distillery is there if you fancy a tour. The village has a Gothic Arch in the centre, from when Queen Victoria visited.
You're right on the edge of the Cairngorms here. The Angus Glens are close by for walking or mountain biking. The coast is about half an hour's drive east. St Cyrus beach and Lunan Bay are good for a walk. Montrose is a bit further.
For local history and walks, the Cairngorms National Park site is useful. If you're heading to the coast, NatureScot has information on the reserves.
Facilities: it has parking, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but the upstairs living area and the bathroom are not, due to the stairs.
