Birch Tree Cottage

Birch Tree Cottage is in Edzell, on the road into the village. It was part of the old railway station. It's detached, in its own space at the end of our drive, so it's private.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's well kept. The main living area is open plan with a wood burner. The ceiling is high, with a gallery upstairs you can look down from.

The back is a small, enclosed courtyard with some decking and old cobbles. It gets the sun in the evening. You get to it through patio doors.

Edzell is a five-minute walk. There's a shop, a couple of pubs that do food, and a nice park with roses. The golf course is just along the road.

For walking, you've got Glen Esk and Tarfside about a fifteen-minute drive away. Good scenery. The beach at St Cyrus is about twenty-five minutes by car. Montrose is a bit further.

If you want a drive out, you can follow the Victorian Heritage Trail up through Fettercairn and over Cairn o' Mount to Deeside. Balmoral and Glamis Castle are within an hour.

In terms of what's there: parking right outside, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, a cot and highchair if needed. All bedding and towels are included. The entrance and living area are on the ground floor and are wheelchair accessible. No pets, sorry.
