Birch Tree Cottage

This is Birch Tree Cottage. It's in Edzell, which is a small village in Angus. It used to be part of the old railway station building. We converted it a while ago. It's detached and sits in our garden, but it's completely private.

It sleeps four people. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. One bathroom is on the ground floor. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean.

You'll see the ceiling is high and vaulted in the living area. The stairs go up to a little gallery landing. They're normal stairs, not too steep. The living room has a wood burning stove for cooler evenings. The kitchen has what you need: a dishwasher, washing machine, that sort of thing.

Out the back is an enclosed courtyard. It's got decking and some of the original stone wall. It's a sunny spot.

The village shop and a couple of places to eat are about a five minute walk. The Edzell Golf Course is just along the road. If you like walking, Glenesk and Tarfside are good starting points. The beach at Montrose or St Cyrus is about a twenty minute drive.

You're well placed for driving out for the day. The Cairngorms National Park is to the west. You can drive through Fettercairn, over the Cairn o' Mount road, and into Royal Deeside. Balmoral is about an hour's drive. Glamis Castle is roughly forty minutes south.

In terms of what's here: there's parking right next to the cottage. The WiFi works. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. Sorry, but we don't take pets.
