The Butchers Cottage
The Butchers Cottage is in the middle of Edzell village. It's directly behind the butcher's shop, which is handy for steaks and sausages. It's a detached house, so no one's sharing your walls.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It was all redone in 2021, so everything's fresh and works. It's got a 4 Star rating, which just means it's well-equipped and comfortable.
The garden is enclosed. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. We include bedding and towels. A cot and highchair are there if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
Edzell's a quiet village. There's a shop, a couple of places to eat, and a golf course right on the edge of town. For walks, you drive up into the Angus Glens like Glenesk. The scenery up there is big and empty. Good for spotting deer.
You're about half an hour from the coast. Lunan Bay and St Cyrus are good sandy beaches. Montrose is a bit further. For a day out, you can drive the tourist route up through Fettercairn, over the Cairn o' Mount road, and into Royal Deeside. Balmoral's at the end of that. Glamis Castle is closer, about 25 minutes away.
If you want to go further, Dundee has the V&A museum and the Discovery. St Andrews or Perth are about an hour's drive.
