This is Dunlappie Lodge. It's a detached old gatehouse for the big house, just outside Edzell village. It's quiet here.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. The rating is 3 Star, so it's comfortable but not luxurious. Everything is on the ground floor, which is handy. It's got a wood burner in the living room, which is nice when it's cold. There's a dishwasher and a TV. The garden is yours to use.
Edzell village is about a mile away. There's a shop, a couple of places to eat, and a good park. The golf course is very close, just down the road.
You're right on the edge of the Cairngorms here. For walks, Glen Esk is straight up the road. Glen Prosen and Glen Clova are about a twenty minute drive. They're good for seeing wildlife. The Caterthuns, which are old hill forts, are nearby if you like that sort of thing.
The coast is about half an hour's drive east. St Cyrus has a fantastic beach and cliffs. Lunan Bay and Montrose are good too.
If you want to head into the mountains, the Cairngorms National Park is right there. You can drive the Cairn o' Mount road towards Braemar for the views. It's a proper mountain road.
Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. There's a cot if you need it. Bedding and towels are included. You can park right outside.
