This is Dunlappie Lodge. It's a detached gate lodge just outside Edzell in Angus. It used to be the gatehouse for the big house nearby. It's detached, so you won't be sharing walls with anyone.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms and has one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. There's a wood burning stove which is good for colder evenings. The layout is open plan downstairs.
The property is listed, Grade C. That just means it's an old building with some character. The stairs are a bit steep, which is normal for these places.
You're about a mile from Edzell village. There's a shop, a pub, and a few places to eat there. There's a golf course half a mile away and plenty of others around if that's your thing.
For getting out, you're in a good spot. There are some good local walks, and you're right on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park for bigger hills and mountain biking. The Angus coastal villages like St Cyrus and Lunan Bay are about a fifteen mile drive east for a good beach. If you want to explore, you can drive over the Cairn o' Mount road towards Braemar. The views across the Mearns from up there are something else.
Facilities: there's a dishwasher, a washing machine, a TV, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. A cot is available. You can bring up to two dogs.
