Humphrey-Basil Lodge
Humphrey-Basil Lodge is a detached lodge on a farm in Norton Disney. It's in the middle of about 60 acres of fields, so it's quiet. The view from the main windows is just countryside.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. One of the bathrooms is a wet room on the ground floor. The whole place is wheelchair accessible, with ramps and wide doors. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well equipped and modern. There's underfloor heating.
You get your own patio with a barbecue, and there's a shared games room on the farmyard with a pool table and table tennis. It's useful if the weather turns. The WiFi is okay for normal use.
There's a pub that does food about a mile and a half away. The nearest shop is in Collingham, about three miles. You'll need a car.
Lincoln is about a 20-minute drive. The cathedral is the main thing. The castle has a copy of the Magna Carta. The Christmas market is busy, really busy, but good if you don't mind crowds. Newark is about 15 minutes the other way. The showground there has big antique fairs.
For local walks, you can start right from the lodge. The Viking Way footpath runs nearby. If you're into golf, there's a course at Newark about ten minutes away. For a bigger day out, Sherwood Forest is just under half an hour's drive.
In terms of what's here: all bedding and towels are included. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. You can bring up to three dogs. Parking is right outside the lodge.
