Oscar Lodge is a detached holiday lodge up at Birchdale Farm, near Norton Disney. It's in the middle of about 60 acres of fields, so it's quiet. You get your own bit of garden with a patio and a barbecue.
It sleeps four people. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom, which has a shower. Everything is on the ground floor, so there are no stairs to worry about. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine, and the Wi-Fi usually works fine.
You can bring up to three dogs. The garden isn't fully enclosed, so if your dog's a runner, you'd need to keep an eye on them.
The nearest pub is about a mile and a half away. The closest shop for basics is in Collingham, about three miles.
Lincoln is roughly a 20 minute drive. The cathedral is the main thing to see. You can walk up Steep Hill from the cathedral down to Brayford Wharf, which is where the restaurants and cinema are. Newark is about a 15 minute drive the other way. The castle and the market are good. Newark Showground, which does big antiques fairs, is just outside town.
If you want to walk straight from the door, you can. There are public footpaths through the fields. For a longer day out, Sherwood Forest is about a 40 minute drive. You can also get to the Lincolnshire Wolds or the coast around Mablethorpe in under an hour.
