The Steading

The Steading is near Salen, on the Ardnamurchan peninsula. It's a detached bungalow, right on the water. You have your own little beach at the bottom of the garden.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It has a 4 Star rating. The whole place is on one level and the doors are wide, so it works well for wheelchairs or if stairs are a problem.

The main thing here is the view. The living room and master bedroom look straight out over Loch Sunart to the mountains. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings. The kitchen is big, with a large island. There's also a separate utility room with a washing machine, and a small gym with a view.

Outside, the garden is large and fully enclosed, which is good for dogs. There's a patio by the house. The best spot is at the end of a boardwalk, on a point sticking into the loch. There's a bench there. It's a great place to sit with a drink.

You can launch small boats or kayaks from the beach. We see seals and otters often. Deer sometimes come into the garden.

The local shop is in Salen, about three miles away. The nearest pub and restaurant are about six miles. For a bigger trip, you can take a boat from here over to Tobermory on Mull.

This is a quiet area. The Ardnamurchan Lighthouse, at the most westerly point of the UK mainland, is a drive away. The whole peninsula is good for walking, with empty beaches and hills.

Facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's parking. Up to three dogs are welcome. The property has wifi.
