Shielside

This is Shielside. It's in Acharacle, right at the very end of Loch Shiel on the Ardnamurchan peninsula. It's a modern house, purpose-built for letting, so everything works properly and the layout makes sense.

It sleeps nine, but it's set up for four couples or families. There are four double bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom attached. Two of those bedrooms are particularly big.

The garden is large and completely enclosed. It's a good space, especially if you've got a dog or kids. We allow one well-behaved pet.

The place has a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped. You've got everything on the list: dishwasher, washing machine, woodburning stove, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them.

Acharacle is a proper village. It's got a shop and post office, a pub, a café, and a garage. The place feels remote, but you're not cut off. The road from here to Fort William is single-track, but it's well-maintained. It's about 45 miles, so just over an hour's drive through some outstanding scenery.

Ardnamurchan itself is a National Scenic Area. It's wild. You can walk straight out the door. Loch Shiel is on your doorstep for kayaking or a cold swim. The coast isn't far.

Fort William is the main hub for bigger things like the West Highland Way, Ben Nevis, or the Glenfinnan Viaduct. The Jacobite steam train runs from there to Mallaig in the season. You've got all the shops and services there too.
