Riverview Cottage

Riverview Cottage is in Shielfoot near Acharacle. It's a two bedroom cottage that sleeps four. There's one bathroom.

The place gets its name because it's right by the River Shiel. You can see it from most of the windows. It's quiet, just the sound of the river and the birds.

The cottage has a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable. The woodburning stove works well. There's an enclosed garden with a patio, which is handy if you're bringing dogs. You can bring two dogs.

Inside is open plan downstairs. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. There's a TV and the wifi is okay for emails and browsing. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside.

Acharacle village is about a mile away. It's got a small shop for basics and a post office. The nearest pub is the Loch Shiel Hotel, which serves food.

You're right on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula here. For a good walk, you can head down to the old railway line path. The coast is a short drive away - places like Kentra Bay and Ardtoe. Loch Shiel is right there for fishing or a boat trip.

If you want to explore further, Glenborrodale is about ten minutes by car. The road out to Ardnamurchan Point, with the lighthouse, is a spectacular drive but it takes a good hour. Fort William is just under an hour's drive, so you can get to the Glen Coe area or the National Trust for Scotland Glencoe visitor centre within that time.
