Black Lion Folly

This is Black Lion Folly, in Rhydymwyn. It's in the courtyard of an old listed longhouse, part of a historic estate. Up until a few years ago it was used as an animal shed. Now it sleeps eight.

It's got four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Three have walk-in showers, one has a roll-top bath. The mattresses are good quality, proper pocket sprung ones.

Downstairs is all open plan. There's a wood burner in the living area and underfloor heating. The dining table is big, seats up to twelve. French doors go out to a patio with a hot tub that fits seven people. The garden looks over an orchard.

There's a utility room with a washing machine and a Belfast sink. You can store bikes or a jet ski securely. Plenty of parking.

It's a five-star rating, which means it's well finished and comfortable.

The views are out over fields towards Moel Famau and the Clwydian Range. You're in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty here. The local shop and pub are a mile away in the village.

Mold is five minutes by car. It's a market town with the usual shops. Chester is about twelve miles, you can walk the Roman walls there. Liverpool is 35 minutes if you want a city day. The North Wales coast, for beaches like Talacre or Prestatyn, is about 20 miles. Snowdonia is under an hour's drive.

There's a lot of history and walking right on the doorstep. The Clwydian Hills are there for you to explore. Offa's Dyke Path runs through them.

You can bring one dog. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
