Hersedd Barns is our converted barn in Hendre, Flintshire. It's on our own land, down a private drive. You'll have a lawned garden out the back with a patio and a view over the fields. You're welcome to use the fields to walk the dogs. There's even space in the yard barn if you wanted to bring a horse.
It sleeps eight in three bedrooms. There are two doubles, one with an ensuite shower, and a third room with two singles that can be zipped together to make a double if you prefer. There's a family bathroom upstairs with a bath and a separate shower.
The building was the old cowshed and hayloft, so you get the wooden beams and oak floors. Downstairs is one big open space, really. There's a farmhouse kitchen with a range cooker, a big dining table, and then two sitting areas we call the snug and the lounge. The French doors lead out to the front.
We've given it a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable. There's a washing machine and tumble dryer in a laundry room upstairs. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. Parking is for two or three cars on the drive.
The location is quiet and rural. Mold is about a ten minute drive for shops and supermarkets. The Clwydian Range is right on your doorstep for walking. You can be at the North Wales coast, places like Prestatyn, in under half an hour. Chester is about forty minutes by car.
For planning walks and days out, Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB is the official site. National Trust Wales has information on nearby places like Erddig.
