Inverglen Farm

Inverglen Farm is on a hill above Strachur, off a rough track through the woods. You'll need to take that track slow. The garden is over half an acre, mostly lawn and trees, and there's an old barn for storage.

It sleeps seven, with four bedrooms. One bedroom and a shower room are downstairs, which can be helpful. There are two staircases, one from the kitchen and one from the hall. The master bedroom upstairs has a really high, timber ceiling and a shared bathroom with a roll-top bath.

The kitchen is big and has an Aga, which is great for a long stay. There are two separate living rooms, both with open fires. We leave you some wood to get started.

The local shop and pub are about half a mile away, down the hill. The pub does food. The nearest proper beach is at Ardentinny, about 11 miles.

From here, you can go north to Inveraray, which has the castle, or on to Oban. Or you can go south along the Cowal peninsula towards Dunoon. Good walking all around, especially along Loch Fyne.

The place has a 3 Star rating. It's a proper old farmhouse, so it's comfortable but not shiny. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance, and the ground floor bedroom and shower room might work for limited mobility, but the track up is uneven and some internal doors are a bit narrow.

You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included, there's a washing machine, and parking for a couple of cars. The WiFi works, but it's not super fast out here.
