Inverglen Farm is a detached farmhouse near Strachur, in Argyll. It's up a rough track through woodland, so you'll hear your own car approaching. That's about it for passing traffic.
The place sleeps seven, in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, one of which is a big Jack and Jill style one upstairs with a roll-top bath. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean, but don't expect luxury fittings. The farmhouse kitchen has an Aga. It heats the room and you can cook on it. There's also a separate electric oven and hob if you're not used to an Aga.
There are two living rooms, both with open fires. We supply some logs to get you started. There's a bedroom and a shower room on the ground floor, which is handy. The stairs are fine, but they're typical old farmhouse stairs.
Outside, it's just over half an acre of natural garden. There's a big barn you can use for storing bikes or kayaks. The whole place feels very quiet and private.
You can walk to the local shop and pub in about ten minutes. The pub serves food. A decent restaurant is about a mile down the road in Strachur.
Inveraray is about a twenty minute drive north. You've got the castle and the jail there. Head the other way and you're on the Cowal peninsula towards Dunoon. The coast is about eleven miles away for beaches. Oban is just over an hour's drive if you fancy a day trip for the ferry to the islands.
For facilities: All bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and parking for a few cars. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. The entrance and the ground floor bedroom and shower are wheelchair accessible.
