Strathclaggan

Strathclaggan is a house just outside Craigellachie in Aberdeenshire. It's a detached house with a big, enclosed garden mainly to lawn. There's a patio with a barbecue and a wood-fired hot tub.

It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, one is an en-suite to the main bedroom and two of the other bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill shower room. It's a 5 Star place, so it's well equipped and comfortable. The stairs are fine, normal for a house.

The main living space is open plan with French doors out to the garden. The kitchen has modern fittings, an integrated hob, oven, and a dishwasher. There's a washing machine too. Upstairs on the landing there's an area with a seat and a desk if you need to work.

You're right in Speyside here. It's a good spot. Craigellachie itself has a couple of pubs and a shop. Aberlour is a couple of miles away and has more shops and places to eat.

If you're into whisky, you're in the right place. Walking distance to the Speyside Cooperage and Macallan isn't far. There are loads of distilleries within a short drive. For walking, the area is great. The River Spey path is nearby. Ben Rinnes is about a 20-minute drive if you want a proper hill. For skiing, the Lecht and Cairngorm resorts are within an hour.

The coast and places like Elgin are about 40 minutes by car. The National Trust for Scotland's Leith Hall is a short drive away, and Balmoral is just over an hour.

Facilities: everything listed is there. Bedding and towels are included. There's on-site parking, bike storage, a cot, highchair, and a stairgate. Sorry, no pets.
