This is Byrness House, it's our old farmhouse. We live next door in the other house. It's 17th century, detached, and it's on about seven acres of land. The views are good, you look out over the Rede Valley.
It sleeps ten people. There are five bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, which basically means it's comfortable and clean but not a fancy hotel.
The location is what it's about. You're right on the edge of Byrness village, literally on the Pennine Way. The Northumberland National Park is on the doorstep. We're five miles from Scotland.
It's very dark here at night. We're in a Dark Sky area, one of the darkest spots. If you're into that, it's excellent. The Kielder Observatory is about twelve miles away for organised events.
Inside, it's a farmhouse. The kitchen has what you need. There's a big dining room and a living room to spread out in. It's a good place for a group to meet up.
For facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can put up a cot and highchair if you need them. We take up to two dogs. The garden is yours to use.
The local shop is ten miles away in Bellingham. The nearest pub and restaurant is about five miles. There's fishing locally, and a golf course near Bellingham, about seventeen miles. The coast is a fair drive, about forty miles.
If you're planning things, the Visit Northumberland site is useful. So is the National Park site for walking.
