Oak Cottage
Oak Cottage is up in Byrness, right in the Northumberland National Park. It's on our sheep farm. It used to be a shepherd's cottage, but it's been done up nicely.
The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a four-poster bed. The living room has low beams and a big inglenook fireplace with a wood burner. It's a 4-star place, so it's comfortable and warm. There's a power shower.
We've got wildlife cameras set up around the farm. You can watch the feed on the TV in the cottage. You'll often see badgers, or barn owls in the evening. It's very quiet up here.
The garden is enclosed, so it's fine for dogs. We don't mind pets, just clean up after them.
For things to do, you're right in the park. It's walking country. You can drive to Kielder Water and Forest Park in about 20 minutes. Hadrian's Wall is maybe 45 minutes away, depending on which bit you go to. The coast, like Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island, is just over an hour. Newcastle is about an hour's drive, Edinburgh is a bit more.
There's a dishwasher, washing machine, Wi-Fi, and parking. We have a cot and highchair if you need them. There's an electric vehicle charger too.
