Oak Cottage

Oak Cottage is here in Byrness, in Northumberland. It's on our sheep farm, in the Northumberland National Park. You look out over fields towards Whitelee Fell.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a four poster bed. The living room has beams and an inglenook fireplace with a stove. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean.

The stairs are steep in parts, like a lot of old cottages. We've got a stairgate for them.

There's a wildlife camera on the farm. The feed comes to the TV in the cottage, so you can watch the barn owls or badgers if they're about.

The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing dogs. We take up to three pets. There's parking right outside and an electric vehicle charger.

For facilities, you've got a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included.

You're right in the National Park for walking. Kielder Forest is very close for cycling or walking. The Roman Wall sites, like Housesteads, are about a 30 minute drive. Alnwick Castle and Gardens is about 45 minutes away. For the coast, Holy Island (Lindisfarne) is just over an hour.

Otterburn is the nearest village for a shop, about 15 minutes by car. Newcastle and Edinburgh are both around an hour and a half's drive if you want a city day.
