High Trodigal

High Trodigal is in Machrihanish. It's that little stone building built into the hill, with the grass roof. You'll have seen it if you've driven along that road. Sleeps two, one bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating. It's been done to a good standard.

The house is all on one level, which is handy. There are no steps at the entrance. The main thing is the view. You're looking west over the Atlantic and the islands. It's quiet.

You're less than a mile from the Machrihanish Golf Course. The local pub and a restaurant are about three quarters of a mile away. The nearest shop is in Campbeltown, about five miles.

The beach at Machrihanish is good. Gauldrons Beach is where the bird observatory is, if you're into that. There are otters around. The Kintyre Way walking route is right here for longer walks.

Campbeltown has the basics: supermarkets, a few shops. It's a whisky town, so there are distilleries if you want a tour. They have a cinema and a museum. The music festival in August is busy.

You can get a ferry from Kennacraig to Islay or Jura, that's about an hour's drive from here. The wee ferry to the Isle of Gigha is closer. Arran is across the water, but you'd normally get the ferry from Ardrossan.

Inside, it's got a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. The garden is yours. It's fine for bikes. Two dogs are allowed.
