High Trodigal is a cottage I built myself, up in the hills above Machrihanish. It's a single-storey place, stone and turf, built into the slope. You can't see it until you're right on it, which is the idea.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a wood burner. The main thing is the view west over the Atlantic and the islands. That’s why there’s a big window.
You're about three-quarters of a mile from the first tee at Machrihanish Golf Course if that's your thing. The local pub and restaurant is about the same walk down the hill.
Campbeltown is five miles away for shops. It's got supermarkets and some good places to eat. There are three whisky distilleries in town now, plus a gin distillery.
You're close to the coast path for walking. Machrihanish beach is a good long stretch of sand. The National Trust for Scotland has land around here too. For a day trip, you can get the ferry from Kennacraig to Islay or Jura. It's about a 30-minute drive to the ferry terminal.
Facilities wise: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside. The patio is small but it catches the afternoon sun. You can bring two dogs.
