Ballygroggan Bungalow

It’s called Ballygroggan Bungalow. It’s on our farm, up on the hill above Machrihanish. You have to drive up a single track road to get here. It’s quiet. The views are over the Sound towards Islay, Jura, and Gigha. On a very clear day, you can see Northern Ireland.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. There’s one bathroom with a shower. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s a detached bungalow, so everything is on one level. The main room is open plan with a wood burner. You look out over the garden to the sea.

It’s a working sheep farm. You’ll see us going about, but the bungalow is separate. The Kintyre Way walking route goes right past the farm buildings.

Machrihanish beach is about ten minutes down the hill. It’s a big sandy beach. The village has a pub that does food and a play park. The Machrihanish golf course is famous. There are a few other good courses within half an hour.

Campbeltown is a 15 minute drive. It’s a proper little town with a harbour. There are places to eat, a cinema, and a few shops. There are three whisky distilleries there you can visit: Springbank, Glen Scotia, and Kilkerran.

You can get ferries from here to places like Arran, Gigha, or Islay if you want a day trip. There’s often wildlife around: eagles, seals, that sort of thing.

For facilities: it has a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, WiFi, and an electric car charger. The garden is enclosed. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
