Ballygroggan Bungalow

Ballygroggan Bungalow is on our sheep farm, up above Machrihanish. It’s a detached place at the end of a long farm track. The views are the main thing. You can see right out over the Sound to Islay, Jura, and Gigha. On a very clear day, you might even spot the Northern Ireland coast.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom with a shower. The living area is open-plan with a wood burner. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s all on one level, which is handy.

You're on a working farm, so you’ll see sheep. The Kintyre Way walking route goes right past the back of the yard and up the hill.

Machrihanish village is a couple of miles down the road. The beach there is lovely, soft sand. There’s a play park and a pub that does food. The pub is seasonal, so it's closed from November to March.

The Machrihanish golf course is famous. There are a few other good courses within about twenty minutes’ drive if that’s your thing.

Campbeltown is the nearest town, about a ten minute drive. It’s got a nice harbour, places to eat, and a few shops. There are three whisky distilleries there you can visit: Springbank, Glen Scotia and Kilkerran. You can walk out to Davaar Island at low tide to see the cave painting.

From Campbeltown you can get ferries over to places like Arran, Gigha, Islay and Jura, all within half an hour or so of the bungalow. You might see seals or eagles around.

For facilities: there’s a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There’s parking right outside and an enclosed garden with a barbecue. You can bring one dog. We’ve got a highchair if you need it.
