The Byng is one of five cottages here on our farm. It's a conversion from an old farm building, so it's brick and timber inside. It sleeps nine, which sounds a lot, but it's only three bedrooms. Two are very big family rooms with bunk beds and a double, so it works for a big family or a couple of families together. There are two bathrooms.
It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well equipped and comfortable. The rooms are a good size. The stairs are wooden and a bit steep, like you'd expect.
You're on a working farm. We've got sheep, chickens, and sometimes pigs. You're welcome to come and see them. There's a bit of a stream and some woods at the bottom of the field where people sometimes picnic.
The cottage has its own garden with a patio and a BBQ. There's parking right outside. Inside, there's a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding is included. We can provide a cot and a highchair.
Location wise, it's quiet. The nearest proper shops are about six miles away in Eccleshall or Newport. You'll need a car.
If you want to go out, Alton Towers is about half an hour's drive. The Ironbridge Gorge Museums are a similar distance, and well worth a visit. Shrewsbury is a nice town to walk around, that's about 25 minutes. For plane enthusiasts, the RAF Museum Cosford is very close.
Around here, there are plenty of quiet lanes for walking or cycling. There's fishing in the local pools, and a few golf courses and stables within five miles if you arrange it ahead.
