Saddlers Cottage
Saddlers Cottage is in Gattonside, just across the river from Melrose. It's a converted stable in a quiet courtyard. It sleeps five, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The rating is 4 Star. It's comfortable, not huge. The living room has a wood burner, which is good. The stairs are standard cottage stairs.
The kitchen has what you need: dishwasher, washing machine, a proper fridge and freezer. There's a coffee machine. The main bathroom is downstairs with a bath and shower over it. Upstairs, the main bedroom has its own en-suite shower room. The second bedroom has three single beds, but two can be pushed together to make a big double if you prefer.
You can walk into Melrose in about fifteen minutes, across the footbridge over the Tweed. The village itself has two restaurants very close by. Melrose has the abbey, pubs, and shops.
For getting about, Tweedbank station isn't far if you want to take the train into Edinburgh for a day. It's about an hour. You're well placed for walking, fishing, or playing golf. The surrounding towns are full of history.
Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a cot if needed, and bedding and towels are included. No pets.
