Saddlers Cottage is in Gattonside, which is in the Scottish Borders. It's a converted stable set around a quiet courtyard.
It sleeps five, in two bedrooms. One bedroom has a king-size bed and its own shower room. The other room has three singles. Two of those singles can zip together to make a super king if you'd prefer. There's a second, separate toilet upstairs too. The main bathroom is on the ground floor, with a deep bath and a shower over it.
It's a 4 Star place, so it's well kept and comfortable. The stairs are a normal cottage staircase. The living room has a wood burner. There's a smart TV with Netflix included. The kitchen has what you'd need, including a dishwasher, washing machine, and a slow cooker. There's a Nespresso machine with some pods to start you off.
You can walk into Melrose in about 15 minutes, across the footbridge over the River Tweed. The village itself has two good restaurants just a couple of minutes' walk from the cottage.
It's a good spot for walking, fishing, or golf. The area is full of history. You can get to Edinburgh for a day out from Tweedbank station, which isn't far. For local history, Melrose Abbey is the main site. The wider region is looked after by the Scottish Borders Council tourism site and Visit Scotland has good overviews.
Facilities: parking on site, all bedding and towels are included, there's a cot available. No pets.
