Lower Canterbury House
Lower Canterbury House is in Gattonside, just over the river from Melrose. It's for two people.
We finished renovating it in 2020. It's all one level inside. You come into a hall, then it's open plan. Kitchen's decent, lounge is comfy. The bathroom has a shower and a separate free-standing bath. The bedroom has a king size bed.
There's a private parking spot. The garden is across the lane from the house. It's south-facing, got a lawn, a summer house, and a locked bike shed.
You can walk into Melrose in about fifteen minutes. It's a nice town on the river. There are two restaurants about a minute's walk from the house here in the village. We're on a quiet lane.
Melrose Abbey is there, and Abbotsford, which was Sir Walter Scott's house. The Eildon Hills are right there if you want a walk. For gardens, there's National Trust for Scotland Melrose.
It gets busy for the Rugby Sevens and the Book Festival. Edinburgh is about an hour's drive if you fancy a day out.
In the house you've got wifi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and all the bedding and towels. Everything's included.
