The Hen Hoose is in Langshaw, on our farm. It's a detached bungalow, so it's all on one level. You can't see it from the main farmhouse. It looks out over the fields.
It sleeps four, two bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfy. It's open plan, so the kitchen, dining and sitting area are all in one room. There's a woodburning stove. The conservatory is nice when the sun's out.
You're on a working farm. We have hens, so we'll leave you some eggs when you arrive.
For walking, you're close to the Southern Upland Way and the Borders Abbey Way. The Eildon Hills are good for a decent walk. If you're into cycling, Glentress Forest trails are about a half hour drive. You can hire bikes there.
Melrose is about fifteen minutes by car. It's a nice little town with shops and places to eat. The abbey is there. Robert the Bruce's heart is buried in the grounds. Sir Walter Scott's house, Abbotsford, is on the River Tweed nearby.
You can get the train to Edinburgh from Galashiels. It takes about an hour.
For facilities: Wi-Fi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot. We have parking right outside. There's a patio with a barbecue. Sorry, no pets.
