The Old Manse Annex is in Town Yetholm. It's a little cottage attached to the main house. We're at the north end of the village, a few minutes' walk from the pub.
It sleeps two. One bedroom upstairs, with a shower room next to it. The bed splits into two singles or pushes together as a super king. The stairs are cottage stairs, so they're a bit steeper than modern ones.
Downstairs is open plan. Kitchen, sofa, table, and the wood burner. It's simple and clean. The washing machine is in a cupboard under the stairs. You can park right outside.
The front door has a step, but it's low and wide. The main living area and the ensuite upstairs mean it might work if you have limited mobility, but it's not purpose-built.
The pub is called The Plough. It's old-fashioned and does food. For a bigger shop, Kelso is about ten minutes away by car. There's a supermarket on the edge of Kelso on the Yetholm road.
You're here for the walking. The village is the end point of the Pennine Way. St Cuthbert's Way goes through here too. The Cheviot hills are right there. The scenery is good, proper hill country.
Kelso has a square, some shops, and a big ruined abbey. For a day out, Edinburgh is about an hour and a half by car. The Northumberland coast, like Bamburgh, is maybe an hour's drive east. The beaches there are long and sandy.
It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and everything works, but it's not a hotel. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
