Avenel Cottage

Avenel Cottage is in Town Yetholm, in the Scottish Borders. It’s semi-detached and faces south, looking over the loch and the Cheviot Hills. It’s quiet out here.

The cottage sleeps five. There are two bedrooms upstairs. The main one has a king-size bed and a single bed in it. The second room has a three-quarter double bed and a cupboard full of teddy bears. There’s one bathroom.

The living room has a woodburning stove and views of the loch. The garden at the back is enclosed and gets the sun. You can walk straight out onto the paths by the water.

It’s got a 3 Star rating. It’s clean and comfortable, not luxury. You can bring up to two dogs.

The nearest shop and pubs are about two and a half miles away in Town Yetholm. For more choice, Kelso is seven miles. It’s a nice town with places to eat and shops. Jedburgh and Melrose are a short drive further on.

There are a lot of historic places to visit around here. The abbeys at Kelso, Jedburgh and Melrose are good. You can get to the Northumberland coast, Holy Island or the Farne Islands in under an hour if you want a day out.

For facilities: there’s a washing machine, WiFi, TV, bike storage, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a highchair if you need one.
