Lavender Cottage is in Methwold village. It's a one-up-one-down timber frame cottage. Sleeps two, one bedroom with a four poster bed, one bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating.
The cottage is right on the street, opposite the big church. There’s a small walled garden at the back that’s private.
The main thing people talk about is the building in the garden. It's a cinema room. It has a big pull-down screen, a sofa, and a wood burner. It's good for a film night if the weather isn't great.
Inside the cottage itself, there's also a wood burner. The stairs are quite steep and narrow, as you'd expect in an old place like this. One dog is welcome.
For location, you're out in the Fens. It's flat, so good for cycling. The village pub is a few minutes walk away. A proper shop is about six miles, in Feltwell.
You can drive to a lot of places from here. The North Norfolk coast, like Holkham or Wells, is about 45 minutes. Thetford Forest is good for walking, maybe 20 minutes. For a grand day out, Sandringham Estate is close, or you've got Oxburgh Hall, which is National Trust. Ely Cathedral is about half an hour south.
Facilities are all there: WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher, bedding and towels included. There's parking for one car on the lane outside the cottage.
