Red Kite Cottage is a terraced limestone cottage in Easton on the Hill. It sits right on the edge of the village. There's a footpath that starts just outside, goes through a gate and straight into the fields. You'll often see red kites about.
It sleeps four in two double bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The stairs are typical cottage stairs. They're fine, but they turn a corner and are a bit steep. There's a stairgate at the top.
The living room has an open fire. We leave a basket of logs for you. The garden is enclosed and quite large for a cottage. It's got a patio area and a decent lawn. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher.
The village shop is a five minute walk. There are two pubs, the Exeter Arms and the Bluebell. Both do good food. You can walk to them.
Stamford is about two miles away. It's a proper market town with stone buildings and good shops. It's been used for filming a lot. Burghley House is just on the other side of Stamford. It's worth a visit for the house and the gardens.
For wider planning, the National Trust and English Heritage have sites nearby. Rockingham Castle is about twenty minutes by car. Rutland Water is about half an hour away for cycling or sailing.
We take up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need it. Parking is for one car on the drive.
