Deer Lodge

Deer Lodge is on a working farm just outside Fenton in Cambridgeshire. It's semi-detached, but you get your own space. You're surrounded by fields, out at the end of a rough farm track.

It sleeps five. Two bedrooms and one shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating so it's comfortable and in good order. The main living area is open plan with doors out to a private patio. The view is over your own fishing lake, Rook Lake.

The fishing is right on your doorstep. There's a platform just outside the lodge. The lake has carp up to 28lbs if you're into that.

The farm is 230 acres and the owner lives on site. There are public footpaths across the land if you want a walk. You'll see plenty of birds. The Rookery Waters site itself has a cafe with a bar and a small tackle shop.

For anything else, you'll need to drive. There's a village shop and a pub about two miles away. St Ives is a market town about five miles from here. It's on the river and has shops and places to eat.

Cambridge is about a 30-minute drive. You can get the Guided Bus from St Ives if you don't want to take the car. Obviously there are the University colleges, museums, and punting on the Cam.

Facilities wise: there's parking right by the lodge, WiFi, a Smart TV, and bedding is included. You can bring one dog. There's a highchair if you need it.
