Hare Lodge is on a working farm near the village of Pidley in Cambridgeshire. It's one of four semi-detached lodges built around a private fishing lake. The owner lives on the farm too.
You get two bedrooms and a shower room. It sleeps four. The main room is open plan with a kitchen, dining area, and living space. French doors open onto your own patio, which looks right over the lake. The view is nice, especially in the morning.
To get to it, you drive down a rough farm track. Once you're there, it's very quiet. You're surrounded by fields. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
If you're coming to fish, that's the main thing here. You have your own fishing platform right outside the lodge. The lake is well-stocked, with carp up to around 28lbs. There's a tackle shop and a café with a bar on site.
If you're not fishing, it's still a good spot for peace and quiet. There are public footpaths from the farm for walks. It's a wetland area, so you see a lot of birds. You can bring one dog.
The nearest pub and shop are about two miles away in Fenton. The historic town of St Ives is five miles away. It has nice shops and places to eat by the river. From there, you can get the guided bus into Cambridge, which takes about half an hour. In Cambridge, you can see the colleges, museums, or go punting.
For facilities: there's parking, a TV, WiFi, and all bedding and towels are included. The patio has furniture.
