Badger Lodge

Badger Lodge is on a working farm near Pidley in Cambridgeshire. It’s one of four semi-detached lodges built around a private fishing lake. The owner lives on site. You get a private patio that looks out over the lake.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one shower room. The two bedrooms can be set up as twins or doubles, just let us know when you book. The main living space is all open plan with French doors to the patio. There’s a Smart TV and a sofa bed if needed. It has a 4 Star rating.

Access is via a farm track, so it’s a bit bumpy. Once you’re here, it’s very quiet. Big fields, big skies. The lake is right there if you want to fish. There’s a dedicated fishing platform for the lodge. The lake has carp, some go up to about 28lbs.

On the farm there’s a café with a licensed bar and a small tackle shop. For a pub or a shop, you’re looking at a drive of about ten minutes. There are plenty of footpaths and bridleways around the farm if you want to walk. Dogs are welcome, one per lodge.

St Ives is about five miles away. It’s a nice market town on the river. Plenty of places to eat and shops. You can get the guided bus from there into Cambridge, which takes about half an hour. In Cambridge, the colleges, museums, and punting on the Cam are the main things.

Facilities include WiFi, all bedding and towels, parking right outside, and an enclosed patio garden. There’s a highchair if you need one.
