Red Lion Cottage Chatteris

Red Lion Cottage is in the middle of Chatteris. It's a terrace house, so you've got neighbours on both sides. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and three bathrooms. The 4 Star rating means it's comfortable and well equipped.

The main bedroom is upstairs. It has an en-suite shower room. Then there's another shower room on that floor for everyone else. The second bedroom is downstairs and has its own en-suite bath. That's useful if someone doesn't want to manage the stairs. The stairs are a typical cottage staircase, so they're a bit steeper and narrower than in a modern house.

Out the back is an enclosed garden with a patio and a barbecue. It's private. You can park right outside the front door.

Chatteris is a small Fenland market town. It's flat. There's a supermarket, a few take-aways, and a couple of pubs within walking distance. The local fishing refers to the drains and rivers around the area, if that's your thing.

For a day out, Ely is about a 25 minute drive. The cathedral is the main thing to see. It's worth it. You can also get to Cambridge in roughly 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Peterborough, with its cathedral and the Nene Valley Railway, is also within half an hour.

Inside, you've got a washing machine, a TV, and all the bedding and towels are included. The electricity is covered too. Sorry, no pets.
