Toms Cottage is in Melmerby, right in the middle of the village. It's a two up, two down sort of place. You can walk to the pub in a minute, same with the bakery. The bakery is very good.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well kept. The garden is enclosed, which is handy. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher.
The cottage is wheelchair accessible at the entrance. Inside, the doors are standard width and there's a step up into the living room, so it's not fully adapted throughout. There's a games room in the outbuilding, which has a pool table. It's a bit old but it works.
You're in the Eden Valley here, which is quieter than the Lakes. The walking from the door is good. If you want to drive, you can be in the Lake District or the Yorkshire Dales in under half an hour. Ullswater is about 15 miles. Hadrian's Wall is a bit further, maybe 20 miles or so.
You can bring one dog. There's a cot available if you need it. Bedding and towels are included.
For planning days out: Lake District National Park, Yorkshire Dales National Park, and North Pennines AONB.
