Horncombe Stables is an apartment above the old stables at Horncombe, which is a medieval hunting lodge. It's one floor up, so it's all on the first floor. You're at the end of a private drive, so it's quiet. The main view is over fields and woodland.
It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-fitted. The kitchen and living area are open plan.
Outside, there's an enclosed garden with a patio and a summerhouse. You can bring one dog. There's parking right by the door.
The place sits in about 50 acres of the owners' land. You're welcome to walk through the woods. There are footpaths from the gate. We see deer regularly.
A shop and a pub are about a mile away in Highbrook. The pub does food and they're dog-friendly.
For days out, Wakehurst (Kew's country garden) is very close. The Bluebell Railway steam trains are about a 20-minute drive. Ashdown Forest is about the same, good for walking. Ardingly Reservoir is nearby for sailing or fishing. If you're coming for the South of England Showground events, it's very handy for that.
The facilities are all there: wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, BBQ. We provide the bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
