Forest View Barn

Forest View Barn is, as the name suggests, a barn conversion. It’s between Balcombe and Handcross, on the lane side. It looks out over the woods.

It’s a one bedroom place for two people. It’s got a 5 Star rating. It’s been renovated and is comfortable.

You come in through your own front door into the main room. It’s open plan with the kitchenette off to one side. The kitchenette has a small fridge, microwave, and a 2-ring hob. It’s fine for doing breakfast or simple meals, but if you were planning a lot of cooking you’d find it tight.

Down a short corridor is the main bedroom. It’s a good size with a super king bed. Big bi-fold doors look straight out into the garden and the woods beyond. You can sit up in bed and watch for deer, they do come through sometimes.

The bathroom is an en-suite, modern and tiled from floor to ceiling.

Outside, you’ve got a small patio with a bench by the front door, and there's a table and chairs on the lawn too.

You can park a couple of cars on the driveway.

The woods you see are private, so you can’t walk directly from the barn into them. But you can drive two minutes to footpaths that get you into the area. It’s very quiet here.

Balcombe village is about two miles away. They have a couple of shops and pubs. The train station is there too, and you can be in central London in about 45 minutes. Brighton is about 25 minutes by car.

For days out, you’re close to a few National Trust places: Nymans and Wakehurst are both a short drive. The Balcombe Viaduct is a local landmark you can go and see.

Facilities wise: it has Wi-Fi, a TV, bedding and towels are included, and there’s heating throughout. Sorry, no pets.
