The Barn is in Gwyddelwern, a little village just outside Corwen in Denbighshire. It's a stone barn we converted, right next to our house. You'll get a parking space and the garden to yourselves.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and a family bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and comfortable. The main thing is the view from the living room and the patio. It looks out over the village and the fields. It's a good spot to sit.
You can walk straight from the door into the lanes and fields. The local pub and a restaurant are about two and a half miles away. There's a shop in Corwen, three miles.
It's a good place for getting out. Corwen is close, and from there you can get the steam train to Llangollen. Ruthin is the other way, about a twenty minute drive. It's a nice old town with a castle and the Ruthin Gaol. For a bigger day out, Betws-y-Coed and the start of Snowdonia are about forty minutes. Chester is around an hour.
A couple of local places worth knowing: Rug Chapel is just up the road, it's a strange and interesting little place. Rhug Estate has a big farm shop and a bistro if you don't want to cook.
Facilities: it's got a woodburning stove, WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them. We allow up to two dogs. You can store bikes.
If you're booking for a bigger group, we have the place next door, The Shippon. Together they sleep six.
