Rockworks Chalets No.6

Rockworks Chalet No.6 is on St Mary's, which is connected to the main Orkney island by the Churchill Barriers. It's semi-detached, one of a row. You look straight out over Scapa Flow.

It sleeps four, in a double and a twin room. There's one bathroom with a shower. The rating is 4 Star. It's modern and clean inside, good windows, lots of light.

You're right on the coast here. The view is mainly Scapa Flow, the water and the sky. You can see the Italian Chapel from the window. The Churchill Barriers are just there too, you can walk on them.

Kirkwall is about a fifteen-minute drive. That's where the shops are, and St Magnus Cathedral. The Neolithic sites like the Ring of Brodgar are maybe twenty minutes away, out past Stenness. Stromness is a bit further, maybe half an hour. It's a good harbour town for a wander and a coffee.

For walking, the west coast is where you go. Yesnaby is spectacular. Hoy is a ferry trip away for the Old Man. If you like fishing, there's good loch fishing inland, and you can sea fish from the shore here.

There's a cafe and gallery next door. A shop about half a mile away. The nearest pub with food is in St Mary's village, about five minutes by car.

Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, TV, a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. The garden is your own bit, with a patio. No pets.
