This is one of the chalets at Rockworks. Number 5. It's semi-detached, on St Mary's in Orkney, right on the edge of Scapa Flow. You look out at the water towards the Italian Chapel.
It sleeps two. One bedroom with twin beds, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a modern build, so everything works and there's good light. The main space is open plan: kitchen, dining area, and living room all together. There's a TV and wifi. It's straightforward.
Outside, you've got a patio area to yourself. Parking is right there.
The location is the main thing. You're on the coast. You can see the Churchill Barriers from here. Kirkwall is about a ten minute drive for shops and the cathedral. The Neolithic sites like the Ring of Brodgar are maybe fifteen, twenty minutes away. Stromness is a bit further, maybe twenty-five minutes. It's a proper old harbour town, good for a wander.
For walking, the west coast paths are incredible. Yesnaby is stunning. You can get to a ferry for Hoy from Houton, which is just down the road, to see the Old Man. If you're into fishing, there's lochs for trout and you can sea fish from the shore here.
There's a cafe and gallery next door. A shop is half a mile away. The nearest pub and restaurant is in St Mary's village, about five minutes by car.
