Thistle Lodge is a single-storey lodge on a private estate near Auchterarder. It's detached, so no shared walls. There's a ramp up to the front door.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. One double with its own shower room, and one twin room. There's a second shower room as well. Everything's on the same level.
The main room has big windows and doors that open onto a deck. It gets the sun. The deck has a table and chairs. The estate has about 100 acres of woods to walk in. You can fish in the river that runs through it, that's included.
Auchterarder village is about a mile away. It has a long high street with shops, a couple of pubs and places to eat. The nearest proper supermarket is in Crieff, about a ten minute drive.
You're right next to the Gleneagles hotel complex. Their golf courses, including the championship one, are just up the road. There's also riding, falconry, and a shooting school nearby if you fancy that.
Stirling is under half an hour away. The castle is worth a visit. Perth is about twenty minutes. Further out, you've got Drummond Castle Gardens and Doune Castle, both within a 30 minute drive. There are a few whisky distilleries around here too, like Glenturret.
For a big day out, Edinburgh or Glasgow are just over an hour by car. You can also get the train from Gleneagles station.
The lodge has a dishwasher, washing machine, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring up to two dogs. There's an enclosed area around the deck.
