Right, Riverside Lodge. It's on the Gleneagles Estate, near Auchterarder. The name's a clue, it's by a river. You can fish there, it's private for the estate.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms which is handy. One's an ensuite off the main room. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable, well kitted out. There's a proper wood burner for winter, and patio doors onto a deck for when it's warmer. You can bring one dog. There's about 100 acres of woodland to walk in, right from the gate.
Auchterarder's about two miles. It's got a long high street with shops and a few places to eat. The pub's walkable, maybe 25 minutes on the road, or a bit less if you cut through the woods. It does food.
If you're into golf, Gleneagles is basically next door. The town course is in Auchterarder itself. For other things, there's an equestrian centre and a falconry place nearby, both within ten minutes.
Within half an hour you've got a fair bit. Stirling Castle is about 25 minutes drive. The whisky distilleries around here, like Glenturret, are about the same. Perth and Crieff are both within that 30 minute circle if you need bigger shops. Edinburgh and Glasgow are just over an hour if you fancied a city day.
What's here: Wifi, parking, dishwasher, washing machine, all the bedding and towels are included. The electricity is in the price.
