This is our place, Allt Beag. It's in Achintraid, on the edge of Loch Kishorn. It's a detached house, so there's no one attached to you. You can see the loch from almost every window.
It sleeps seven. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are downstairs, one with its own shower. The other two are upstairs, up the stairs. There's an open plan living area with a wood burner. The sliding doors go out onto a deck with a table. You'll probably spend a lot of time out there if the weather's okay.
There's also a small room off to the side with a piano and some maps on the wall. It's a quieter spot.
The garden is a proper country garden. It's a bit wild, with grassy banks and little ditches. It's not a flat lawn.
You get all the wildlife here. We've seen otters, seals, and eagles from the house. Deer are around. The view from here is over the loch towards the Bealach na Bà pass. Driving over that to Applecross is quite a trip.
The village itself is tiny. The beach is a few minutes' walk. For a shop or a pub, you need to drive to Lochcarron, which is about six miles. There's a restaurant about two miles away.
Things to do: the walking is serious here. You can go up hills or along the coast. You can hire kayaks. Lochcarron has a 9-hole golf course. It's a good base for exploring Torridon and further north to Ullapool or south to Kyle and the Isle of Skye.
Facilities: it's got a 4 Star rating. There's parking, WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and the bedding and towels are included. It's wheelchair accessible to get in, but the garden terrain is uneven. We can take up to two pets.
