Ceunant
This is Ceunant. It's a stone farmhouse up in the hills near Dinas Mawddwy in Powys. It's on our working sheep farm, so you'll see the sheep in the fields around. The track up to it is a proper farm track, so you drive across a couple of fields to get there. It's very quiet.
The house is old, 16th century I think. It's got the original oak beams and a big inglenook fireplace in the main room. We put in a new heating system a couple of years ago so it's warm. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean but not posh. It's also wheelchair accessible at the entrance.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs. We allow two. There's parking right outside.
You're right in the valley here, Cwm Cywarch. If you're a walker, you can step straight out onto the hills. Aran Fawddwy is the big one you can see. The village, Dinas Mawddwy, is about three and a half miles back down the valley. It's got a pub and a small shop. For more shops and places to eat, Machynlleth and Dolgellau are a short drive away.
If you want to explore, you're not far from Cadair Idris or the Mawddach Trail. The coast at Aberdyfi or Barmouth is about a 40 minute drive. Useful links for the area: Visit Wales Mid Wales and National Trust Snowdonia.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove, TV, WiFi, and a dishwasher. All the bedding and towels are included. There's a shower over the bath.
