Ysgoldy Salem is a cottage in Cwm Cewydd, Powys. It's a detached property, next to our house on the same plot. It used to be the village Sunday school. It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms, one bathroom.
It's a 5 Star place, which means it's recently been done up to feel quite new and fresh inside. Everything works as it should. It's open plan downstairs.
Outside, there's a patio that gets the sun. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs. We allow up to two. There's a tap out there you can use for washing muddy boots or a dog.
The biggest thing to mention is the hot tub. It's on the patio, looking out over the fields. You can sit in it and just look at the hills.
You're on the southern edge of Snowdonia here. The Snowdonia National Park authority site is good for planning. You can walk straight from the door into the hills, or drive ten minutes to find a trail. Cader Idris is about a twenty minute drive. The coast at places like Aberdyfi and Barmouth is about forty minutes.
The local pub is about a mile away in the village. It does food. Machynlleth and Dolgellau are the nearest proper towns, each about fifteen minutes by car. They have shops, cafes, and a few restaurants.
Facilities: parking right outside, washing machine, towels and bedding included, WiFi, TV. There's a wood burner for cooler nights.
