This place is Yr Efail. It's in Llanymawddwy, which is deep in the Dyfi Valley in Mid Wales. It used to be the old blacksmith's, which is what the name means.
It's just for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's all on one level, so no stairs to worry about.
The main thing is it's very quiet and you're on your own. It's detached, with its own garden. It's been done up well inside. You've got oak beams. There's a woodburner for colder nights.
It's a good spot if you want to get out walking or cycling from the door. You're right in the countryside. The road through Bwlch y Groes, which is the highest pass in Wales, starts nearby. That goes up to Bala Lake and Lake Vyrnwy.
Dolgellau and Machynlleth are about a 15-20 minute drive away for shops and more places to eat. The coast at Aberdovey or Barmouth is maybe 40 minutes. If you want the mountains, you're on the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park.
In terms of what's here: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and a TV. There's also an electric vehicle charger. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
You've got a couple of pubs within a few miles for food. The fishing on the river is about a mile away. Supermarkets will deliver here, which is useful.
For planning days out, the Visit Wales site is thorough, and the National Trust in Wales has some good places within an hour or so.
