Yr Efail

It's called Yr Efail, which means the smithy. It used to be the blacksmith's, years ago. It's a detached stone cottage just outside Llanymawddwy. Sleeps two, one bedroom, one bathroom. All on the ground floor.

It's got a five-star rating because it's been done up to a high standard. Everything's new and works properly. It's warm, with underfloor heating and a woodburning stove. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. The WiFi is decent. You can park right outside and there's an electric car charger.

The garden is enclosed, so it's private. There's a patio with a table and a barbecue.

You're right in the Dyfi Valley here. It's very quiet. The village has a pub, about two miles away. The shop is in Dinas Mawddwy, three miles. For a bigger shop, Dolgellau and Machynlleth are about ten miles each way.

You're on the edge of Snowdonia. The pass at Bwlch y Groes is just up the road. It's the highest in Wales. That takes you over to Bala Lake and Lake Vyrnwy. The coast at Aberdovey and Barmouth is about twenty miles.

If you like walking or cycling, you're set. There's bike storage here. Fishing on the river is within a mile.
